Default Heres my shutdown build comment please!

2 W/A hammer wars
1 cripshot/applypoison ranger
1 ele prodigy flag runner
2 boon prot
*2 shutdown eles*

Shutdown Eles

12 domination
10+1 energy storage
the rest in Air (at least 5)

Echo
Arcane Thievery
Arcane Larceny
Diversion
Gale
Backfire
Blackout
Res sig

So heres what they do:
Let the warriors build up adrenaline then when full, the shutdown eles each choose their own individual monk and shut them down with Echo + Arcane Thievery + Arcane Larceny + then use the skill that replaced Echo. Thats 3 skills disabled for 30 seconds if your lucky otherwise you might steal the same skill 2 or even 3 times (just hope that you dont =P). So with 3 heals disabled each on their 2 monks they then cast Gale + diversion then backfire immediately after. If they try and remove backfire diversion, will disable their hex removal for like 50 seconds then just recast backfire to prevent them from healing. This way they cant possibly catch any spikes or even heal and if they do, backfire will hurt more then their healing will help. Gale and diversion should be spammed continously on their monks to prevent healing. During this time warriors should be picking off their own targets and if they happen to be carrying 3 monks then both boon prots and cripshot ranger will dillabating shot + energy drain to prevent healing. The warriors targets should die pretty quickly ( should be shooting for at least 4 kills while the arcane thievery + larceny are in effect). Shutdown else should be using blackout on each monks for a quick spike.

Another strategy i was thinking of was to use the 3 skill disables on a single monk = 6 skills disabled for ~30 seconds each. Thats just about a complete shutdown if you manage to steal 6 different heal skills though thats highly unlikely to happen. Then both shutdown eles should coordinate blackout so that it is chained indefinately on the 2nd monk while the warriors are pounding on everyone else. For this though, shutdown eles should be using zealous sword to steal energy and to keep their close distance because blackout is a touch skill.

This build is great to DP out your opponent considering you kill their flag runner quick. Against spikes shutdowns should be disabling the spikers. -2 spikers is easy enough to heal through. IMO this is better to run then esurgers because monks cant heal very much even with max energy.

Please comment on my build, my weaknesses, strengths, etc. No flames please this should be a constructive post to improve on this build. kkthx!

Well i was planning on using the standard GvG build for the cripshot/prodigy/boon prot/ and hammer warriors. No modifications on their builds. I've only added the shutdown eles in the 2 slots in place of sins/esurgers/etc. Basically I've only posted my strategy for what to do with the shutdowns.

There is no real "standard" charactar build. Every single charactar build needs to be tailored to the needs of the team. Some charactar builds may be identical from team to team, however this is becuase those teams needs are the same, and that specific charactar fills the specific need. This is why you post builds with all charactar's attributes listed, including runes and headgear, and with all 64 skills. That way, people can comment on your charactar, and the other charactars in the team, and therefore accurately judge the build.

duh. energy storage is energy management :P

J/k. yeah, you really need to give those shutdown mesmers energy management.

additionally, what are you going to do against the builds dominated by warriors and rangers? hope your mesmers don't get raped?
